Dr. Timothy D. Dr. Hooper received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, in 1984. He completed his internship at San Joaquin General Hospital in 1985 and his residency training at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center in 1996.

Dr. Hooper and his wife Susan Hooper, RN, have both been certified as nutritional pain managers by the Academy of Integrative Pain Management and are focusing his practice on holistic ways to treat pain.
